About

Yi-Di Ng is a writer and editor who is passionate about science communication. Having worked in a research lab, she enjoys telling engaging stories from complex research. She is capable of digesting specialised or technical information across a range of disciplines to present a compelling narrative that any reader can appreciate.

She has written and edited features for Cosmos Magazine, FEMALE Magazine, and Asian Scientist Magazine. She has also overseen the production and editing of publications and content for Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Management University, and Precision Health Research Singapore. Her previous clients include Wildtype Media, MIMS Malaysia, and Bain & Company.

Yi-Di graduated from The University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Genetics, after which she interned at Cosmos Magazine under award-winning science journalist Elizabeth Finkel. She is currently obtaining a Master of Arts in English Literature from Universiti Malaya, with a focus on narratology and narrative empathy.

In her free time, Yi-Di is a reader and writer of fiction, and an enthusiastic amateur at knitting and crochet. One of her short stories has been long-listed for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize. Her fiction explores different ways of being, the relationship between natural and man-made worlds, unlikely connections between disparate lives, and other such topics.

Yi-Di is based in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.
